Sauce opened his YouTube channel on November 7, 2014. However, between the opening month and the month of his first video in 2015, he spent time learning how to edit videos, and also how to sync video with audio. While his focus initially was on one-shot indie games and long sequential series, he expanded his channel’s content to focus on more mainstream games and also improvised comedic commentary, which made his channel even more popular.

Some of his first videos were gameplays of survival games like Stranded Deep, Subnautica, The Forest, Ark: Survival Evolved, and Conan Exiles. He eventually stopped making videos on these games as he found that the work required to produce quality videos for these games was too demanding and tough.

Captain Sauce’s first attempt at survival games was Stranded Deep.

He also has made content based on flash games, which feature as part of his videos. Some of them include The Visitor, Riddle School, Jacksmith, and Insaniquarium. He has played mobile games on the channel as well, such as Battle Cats, Hidden My Game By Mom, Burrito Bison, Brain Out, and Life is a Game. He continues to make mobile game-related content, using an emulator for ease of making gameplays.

He also did a miniseries called Mobile Rip-Offs, where he would download rip-off versions of famous games and play them. Another popular mobile game miniseries of his is 3 Random Games, in which he downloads 3 random games and plays them. Most of the 3 random game videos follow a theme like Siren Head or dating sharks.

He has also expanded his channel’s content to include VR gaming, and made multi-video series of games like Gorn, Job Simulator, Vacation Simulator, Please Don't Touch Anything, Budget Cuts 1 and 2, Virtual Reality, Floor Plan, Superhot and I Expect You To Die. Although his channel experienced a massive amount of growth due to these games, he eventually had to take a hiatus from making these kinds of gameplays, due to an eye condition and back problems. This video propelled him into popularity was this video, which is one of his earliest videos on VR gaming:

His most popular gaming series on the channel is called ‘The Life of Kevin’ which is a fictionalized series taking place in The Sims 4. He uses fictional characters to help through his gameplays.
